User Reviews for Mohegan Bluffs

5 Star Rating: Highly Recommended

Mohegan Bluffs is amazing. And I, like all of those who have been fortunate enough to have been there, hope not many other people find out. The same is true for the whole island. "Block" is an experience- a discovery. And once you have been there, you'll want to go back again and again. It's so liveable and so at ease with life. And it's pure and natural beauty are incredibly relaxing and exhilerating at the same time. If you do go - and I hope you do (kind of) - support this wish for not changing a thing.

It is with mixed emotions that I see the Hamptons with over a dozen reviews and Block Island with none. Block Island alone (sans Mohegan Bluff) is an absolutely beautiful place. The Bluffs only make it greater. Absolutley majestic. Bluffs like these are just not seen on the East coast of the US. The beach is so unspoiled and beautiful. Too bad there are no pictures on this site. There may be alot of steps down to the beach, but it is worth the effort. Getting to Block Island is half the fun, requiring a boat ride access the island. No riff-raff and crowds like LI or Nantucket or the Vineyard and not over commercial like the Hamptons.

Pros: naturally beautiful, authentic/not commerc, somewhat remote

Cons: somewhat remote, real estate is pricey, ummm..

Editor's Review

One of the most beautiful stretches of beach in New England; getting there is half the fun.  See the full editorial review.
