Editorial Review for Hudson's Seafood on the Docks – by Melissa Stampley Gage
In Short
White cinder-block walls covered with buoys, enormous swordfish and nautical knickknacks probably haven't changed much since doors opened in 1967. Large windows overlook a fleet of shrimp boats working Skull Creek. A waterside deck and bar with occasional live music keep summer crowds happy while they wait. Shrimp is the menu cornerstone, but there's also fish, crab and oysters served broiled or fried. Golden fried shrimp ad plump fried oysters are standouts.

The combination platter is $18.99 and had 7 small shrimp and 7 oysters. more broccoli than anything. The shrimp and oysters had no taste, like was fried in old grease. This place definitely overrated! Save your money and go somewhere else. We sat by the window and the view of water was pretty, but we could have sat on the banks and got that for free! server rushed us and brought our main dishes before we had a chance to eat our very small salad, which had lettuce, cucumbers, and one bite of tomatoe. Most disappointing. Go to the sea shack off of pope road, off the beaten path, and a mom and pop's place. only draw back is they don't serve alcoholic beverages. Food is downright DELICIOUS! We went there twice on our 6 day vacation!
Pros: the view of the water and boats
Cons: price and quality and quantity of food

Four of us decided to try this restaurant our last night in HHI. It was quite disappointing. One of the men had planned on ordering the stuffed flounder only to find they no longer carried it on the menu. The seafood platter comes broiled or fried. The guys ordered 1 of each, and both were lacking. The fried scallop wasn't cooked - yuck! My husband's 'broiled' plate was so overcooked, and tiny servings of the different items were lost. I wasn't that hungry, so I tried the Crab Rangoon. I've had better at a cheap Chinese buffet! My mother was not happy with her meal either. I wish we had talked to some locals first as we later found out that it's a tourist attraction. I wouldn't go back. However, on a good note, the people were friendly, and our server was courteous and accommodating.
Pros: Nice folks
Cons: not so good food
